Whew! A new year! And boy, is it off to a start. With this lovely weather we’ve been experiencing, it’s been a great winter for working on knitting projects. Goodness knows we’ve all needed some woolly accessories to keep our fingers and toes warm. The shop has been buzzing with classes, private lessons, our clearance sale, and our first yarn buyback event! We took in so much great yarn on this day, and distributed a lot of Ewe Bucks in exchange. Yarn received by us during the buyback will be donated to local charities; we’ll keep you posted on their distribution. Our sale began in early January, kicking off with a 25% price reduction on select yarns, and has now moved up to a possible 75% reduction on select items. Reduced price notions, and Addi and Clover needles are available too! It’s a great time to stock up on your needles! The sale will continue through February 6th.
Now that Christmas, and the rest of the holidays have passed, we can start focusing on slightly more self-centered projects or, learning new techniques that might not have been easy to pick up in that time sensitive period before January 1st. I know that I have started to focus on some projects for me; a shawl, fingerless mitts, a scarf, a hat… obviously I have one or two projects on the needles. What are you all working on that is just for you? We’d love to know! Post your pictures and information about your projects and patterns on our Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/twistedeweboise/
Jess and Carolyn have been away in San Jose, CA, for TNNA (that’s one of our giant, knitterly trade shows)! They are picking gorgeous new yarns, bags, and notions to carry in the store, and getting a nice break form the snow (the rest of us are super jealous, but really excited to see what new yarns they choose to carry in-store).
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the lovelies we’ll be carrying in the shop soon…
New yarns from Hanalei Yarns, a cotton by called, ‘Skinny Jeans’ by Tahki Stacy Charles, new row counters, shawl pins… all sorts of lovely goodies! Watch this space for our next post about our new items!
Most people are familiar with the saying, ‘while the cat’s away, the mice come out and play’… So, the rest of us have been having a little fun of our own, working on our projects, and taking advantage of the great clearance sale!
These are mitts being crocheted out of some the fabulous yarn available in our clearance sale! Stop by to see us, check out new items, and come to the sale before it ends on February 6th!
