Lambs, lions, and a trunk show party, oh my!

March, it didn’t really live up to it’s reputation; it neither roared in or out, it was pretty lamb-y most of the four weeks we experienced it, only growling a little here and there. But boy, what a relief after that seemingly never-ending winter! I still wake up in the morning and expect everything to be blanketed in white! The emerging greenery is a definite improvement. Things have been busy at the shop (as per usual), we’ve had lots of new, brightly colored yarns show up, and some cooler fibers too – summer really is just around the corner. And, we’re gearing up for our first retreat! See more under Retreat 2017 on this website!

New spring yarns!

Our newest warm season yarns are: ‘Patti’, a lofty, chainette, cotton yarn, ‘Ripple’, another cotton with a thick/thin texture, and light sheen, ‘Skinny Jeans’, a soft cotton and nylon ribbon yarn (Carolyn just completed a ‘Coffee Shop Wrap’ using this; it’s fabulous!¬†Stop by to see it!), and ‘United’, an organic cotton and wool blend (I’m knitting the ‘Union Station Cardigan’ out of this stuff; it’s nice and soft, and light).

The beginnings of the Union Station Cardigan.

If you’ve been reading our emails, and watching Facebook, you’ll know that judging will begin soon on our Sport Weight Summery Top Contest! All submissions must be in by the 8th of April. Tops do not need to be brand new knits so, if you have a top that you made in years past, out of a sport weight yarn, feel free to bring it in! You could win $50.00 in Ewe Bucks to spend in the shop!¬†

Jess and Kelso, ready serve up yummies at the trunk show party!

On March 25th, we launched a brand new yarn in the shop! And we had a trunk show party to celebrate! The trunk show of finished garments made out of Baah Yarns will continue through April 15th. These yarns come to us from California, made out sumptuous fibers, and dyed to perfection. Stacey is knitting a ‘Coffee Shop Wrap’ out of this yarn, and it’s out of this world! (Stacey is not afraid of knitting with super bright colors, and she mixes them beautifully!)

A taste of the trunk show…

Thanks to all who came out for the Baah Yarns trunk show party, and to everyone who has stopped in recently to check out the shop, and say ‘hi’! Hope the spring is treating you all well!
