TNNA, New Beginnings, and a Thriving Hive

It’s been a whirlwind of a month for us here, at The Twisted Ewe, with a trip to the TNNA trade show in Las Vegas, a new look for our shop, and finishing off with a fantastic trunk show from Thriving Hive Studio! We were off and running as soon as we got back from Vegas; enjoying what little time we had left with Jess, doing a complete shop rearrange, and getting ready for our new supplies to arrive! Las Vegas was, of course, filled with lots of Las Vegas things; we happened to be in town on the same weekend that the Adult Video Network was holding their awards show (we saw some interesting outfits once we left The National Needlearts Association’s trade show, it was quite the contrast from the needlearts world!).

After our ‘goodbye’ dinner

None of us had an opportunity to try our hands at the Craps or Roulette tables as our heads were swimming with thoughts of all the beautiful new yarns we would be carrying at the shop! We met great vendors whom, will become better acquainted with all of you when they visit us for trunk shows throughout the year so, keep your eyes on our calendar! It was not all work in Las Vegas; we had some fantastic meals, took in the sights of the strip, and topped off our trip with a very special ‘goodbye’ dinner for Jess.

Chinese New Year display at the Bellagio

As soon as we returned to Boise, we switched all of our stock around just to confuse you guys (kidding)! All of our stock is arranged by yarn weight now, rather than fiber type, allowing us to show you all of our Fingering, Sport, DK or, Worsted weight yarns without dragging you all over the shop! This was one of Jess’ parting gifts to us, and it has been a huge help in the store already.

New Della Q Bags!

New stock has been arriving in the shop steadily, since we came back from our trip so, if you’ve been hankering for some new Lux Adorna cashmere, Ty-Dye cotton from Knit One, Crochet Too or, a new project bag from Della Q, we’ve got you covered. In the coming months we are expecting a fresh crop of Madeline Tosh, and Oink yarns, Atenti bags, and Pawley Pottery’s fantastic yarn bowls and coffee mugs.

Heidi and her lovely yarns

Yesterday, marked the beginning of our first Trunk Show of the year! Heidi Tillman of Thriving Hive Studio, visited with us during Knit Night yesterday, and showed us her beautiful handspun, and hand-dyed yarns.  The trunk show continues through March 6th.
