02/04/21: Twisted Ewe Weekly Newsletter
Hello fiber artists!
We are entering into the season of love, joy, and always gratitude. This week, I'm so grateful for the power of blocking! Below is my Ninilchich Swoncho, before and after a soak in the tub. With some tepid water and a cap full of Eucalan, the colorwork finally relaxed and expanded. After five months in the making, my pink Swoncho is finally a nice treat to wear, especially with Valentine's day coming up.
Below is a preview on events and news in February and March that have everything to do with love, joy, and gratitude:
On the Needles
In today's Live video, Carolyn shares a pop of joy in her newest project, the Painting Honeycomb Shawl by Stephen West!
This pattern came out last month, and just like all of West's designs, this shawl is bold, joyful, and colorful.
Carolyn is using Zauberball for the gradient color change, and Heritage for the solid color.
We Love Ewe - weekend
Let's feel some love and gratitude next weekend at the Ewe!
We'll have a freshly painted window, some new decor, Spin the Swift, and a few LOVELY discounts online and in-store.
We certainly have a deep appreciation for everyone in our stitching community. This photo is from Stitch Night in February 2020. What a lovely memory to keep!
Cocoknits Maker's Keep
With V-day coming up, it's a nice opportunity to treat yourself with some new stitching tools. Our Cocoknits Maker's Keep bracelets make a nice addition to a stitcher's kit by keeping notions in one place with it's magnetic surface.
No more stressing about losing needles and stitch markers in couch cushions and under passenger seats!
Sip and Shear at Kerry Hill
Sip fine wines, browse local vendors and food trucks, learn different fiber crafts, hang out and stitch, and watching over 100 Kerry Hill sheep get shorn!
A local yarn dyer, Chelsea from Acid Veil Dye Works, will have a booth. If weather permits, she will bring her dyeing to the event as a live demo! The Twisted Ewe will also have a booth, and have felting and spinning demos as well.
Let us know if you are coming by following our event!
February 27th from 10-4 at Kerry Hill Winery
Warmth of Fiber Contest
Show off your gorgeous handmade work with our Warmth of Fiber Contest! You can now submit any kind of garment or accessory. The only criteria is the yarn weight and yardage.
Read all the details on our webpage.

Peeking ahead to March, how is your yarn stash looking this year? Need to do some spring cleaning?
Our annual Yarn Buy Back is a chance to refreshen your stash. You give us any yarn you no longer want. We will weight it, and give you back 5 Ewe Bucks per pound.
Finally, this month the Twisted Staff is participating in the Fiberuary Challenge on Instagram! The daily-post "challenge" is a fun opportunity to see what other people in the world are making and doing with their crafts.
If you decide to participate, make sure to hashtag #twistedeweidaho and #gettwistedattheewe to see posts from stitchers connected to the shop.
Thanks for reading, and as always, stay in touch with us online, or in-person at the shop!
