Twisted Ewe Weekly Newsletter 1/14/21: Turning around 2021 with Sunshine, Fiber, and Outdoor Events!
Hey everyone,
Could this week get any crazier? We have to be honest--2021 is off to a rough start, with tensions high. Many people are taking a break from their social media pages, and maybe that's not a bad idea. We could all use a little more time away from screens, especially on the rare days in the Treasure Valley when the sun is shinning and we can soak up some Vitamin D!
Yesterday, the Twisted Staff met for several hours to brainstorm fun, exciting, and educational activities for you all in 2021. We are ready to make the most out of this year.
What does a Twisted Ewe meeting look like? We call these big meetings "Brain Dumps," where we eat pumpkin soup, crack jokes, and blast Olivia Newton John in Carolyn's kitchen... it doesn't really feel like work!
Nonetheless, our creative ideas flowed, and we got some planning done. In the works is an outdoor shearing event at Kerry Hill Winery in February! More information will be available next week. Other events this year include dye days, picnics, and tours of other wineries and breweries. Let's get outdoors this year and have some fun!
If you are sticking around on social media, keep your eye out for some positive quotes, motivational phrases, and laugh worthy memes from our page. Let us know what posts you like, make you laugh, or feel inspired. We love your feedback! If you are taking a break from social media, you can still get shop news from our weekly newsletters, our website, or giving us an old-fashioned phone call :)
Below in the email is a summary of what's new at the shop including a special art piece made by the Woman of Steel, and new classes!
New Metal Art - Woman of Steel
The shop has a brand new art piece, made by the Woman of Steel, Irene Deely!
Irene calls this lovely ewe, “Twisted Ewe." Made with wool locks, metals, leaves, barbed wire, and bones, she definitely looks a little Twisted. The artist’s explanation is too long to write here, but you can watch Irene explain her piece on our video on Facebook and IGTV.
Thank you Irene for putting your heart into this stunning piece, one that pushes the limits of what you can make with wool and creativity 💙
Plaidaptation Poncho Class
"Plaidaptation is the pattern that rescues plaid from extinction." ~Aunt Ninny, designer

Take a look at these beautiful felted soaps made by the lovely felters in last Sunday's classes! Everyone agreed, the activity is meditative and relaxing.
