Learn the basics of hat-knitting in this 2-hour, 2-session class! Perfect for beginner knitters, hat knitting introduces new techniques that are used for intermediate projects.
Once you can knit a hat, you can make a sweater!
When: Thursday, February 16th and 23rd from 6-8pm
Skills Learned: Working in the round, hat construction, ribbing, decreases, magic loop technique.
Skills Needed: Basic knitting skills, knit, purl, cast-on.
Materials:
- 1 skein of Bulky weight yarn. We recommend Cascade 128.
- Size 8 or 9 circular needles with 16" cord. Bamboo or Metal. This needle is used to make a stretchy brim.
- Size 10 circular needles with 16" cord. Bamboo or Metal. Used for the main body of hat.
- Size 10 Metal circular needles with 32" cord. Used for decreased stitches on the top, in magic loop method. Metal needles recommended!
